Portmarnock CS plan Africa tripFingal Independent Wednesday September 19 /2007 An information and cultural evening is being held in Portmarnock Community School next week to outline plans for a second fundraising mission by students to South Africa. After the huge success of the inaugural trip in February, the school committee, headed by teacher Niall Fitzgerald, is already planning next year?s trip, scheduled for February 1 to 15. An invitation has been issued to all past pupils who may wish to be involved in this trip. The cost is ?1,600 per person. Anyone interested in being involved may attend this meeting or alternatively you can email pcs.reunion@campus.ie for more information. The evening is being held on Wednesday, September 26, which will be attended b Marian Finucane and the South African. In February, some 25 transition year students travelled to Durban, accompanied by a team of teachers, doctors, nurses, architects, builders, plumbers and electricians where they undertook a project involving the renovation of a crèche, extension of a clinic and they brought much needed medical help to parents and children suffering from AIDS/HIV.
