Not guilty plea in harassment case


A PORTMARNOCK man facing an allegation that he sent ladies’ underwear to a woman has pleaded not guilty to harassment charges.

Ciaran McNulty (30), 27 Blackberry Rise, Portmarnock, appeared in Swords District Court charged with harassing a woman at Dal Riada, Portmarnock on May 27, 2005.

He is also charged with harassing a second woman at Blackberry Rise on a date unknown between September 26 and October 23 last. The charges are contrary to the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.Not guilty plea in harassment case

The accusations also include harassing text messages. Defence barrister Annette Kealy told the court she was seeking a date for hearing. Jurisdiction had already been accepted to have the case dealt with in the District Court.

The court heard there would be seven garda witnesses and two civilian witnesses in the case and it would take around two and a half hours to hear it.Not guilty plea in harassment case

Judge Patrick Brady adjourned it to June 19, 2006.
