Marious House

OCEANHALL HOMEPAGE

Or as these days more popularily known as 'Eucharia',. My grandmother named the house after a bishops conference.

The original name Marious House came f rom the Grandfather's (Packie) father - Patrick.

Unfortunaltley the meoriabillia from the house has long gone through the passage of time.

There were many stone carvings, one of the more famous is still in Rossespoint County Sligo, - a marble table supported by the kings of Ireland,. (not to sure about that, as I havn't seen it myself), it 's in Ballincar.

The original name of the house is inbetted in the stone in the kithchen, the house is in tenure by local artist Gill Hewitt and the new owner is Kate Kivlehan.

Before the 'new' promenade was built , there used to be a slip-way directley in front of the house, still known to this day as - 'Burns- Slipway'.

Local carvings are still to be seen, although very weathered! (OCEANHALL).

On the second beach there are two caves also with inscriptions of the famous buissnessmen of the time (these days more commonly known as smugglers & landlords) but not accessable, due to having been closed up by the 'establishment'. The caves used to connect with the Lower Rossess. (The Rossespoint Underground).

The story of 'The Two Caves' can be found later in 'The Story'.
