The Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Club was evacuated after a fire broke out
on the roof of the hotel just after six in the morning.
Three fire engines dealt with the blaze, and the Fire Service brought it under control.
No one was injured in the incident.
According to a spokesperson for the hotel, the small fire was caused by excessive rain that damaged external wiring on the hotel roof.
