Discounter Planning Permission GrantedA discounter market has been given permission to build a store on the grounds of the Hotel on Strand Road opposite the Martello Tower and Portmarnock Beach. The discount store will also have an off- license and requires a 75 space car park, to be facilitated by demolishing part of the hotel buildings. Local residents fear an increase in garbage and violence when the opeinging of the cheap supermarket and off-license could be seen as a bonanza for beach-ravers |
